14 Arrested as police conduct operation against reckless driving

Kampala: The Directorate of Traffic & Road Safety has conducted a targeted operation at Nkumba University Junction to combat reckless driving, in particular disregard for road traffic signs. Specifically drivers who make U-turns, putting lives at risk, were apprehended. This junction has tragically become a black spot, claiming lives due to careless driving.
To address this, an operation has been conducted & resulted into impounding of the following vehicles:-
UBF 654H, UAV 839U, UBP 854F, UBF 444F, UBG 766U,UBN 828U, UBK 741N, UBP 693G,UAS 824Q,UBN 660Z,UBR 335R, UAH 710Q, UBP 034, UBD 902D.
“All the drivers have been arrested & detained at Entebbe Police Station, where they will be held pending appearance in court on charges of careless driving.” ConSafety SP Kananura Michael the Community Liason Officer/PRO Directorate of Traffic & Road Safety
“We will continue to intensify enforcement operations to ensure road safety & compliance with traffic regulations.” He adds.
“We urge all motorists to respect road signs and rules to prevent crashes and save lives.”
