15 year old S2 student defiled, killed in Mbale Lodge; Police commence investigations
A 15 year old student studying from Nakaloke SS in Mbale City was found dead in a lodge in Mbale City Identified as Grace Guest House located in Namakwekwe ward in Northern City Division in Mbale City.
According to police, the deceased has been identified as Sumaya Idiris a 15year old Senior Two Student of Nakaloke SS, a Resident of Dr Gesa Cell Namunsi ward Northern Division Mbale City.
What Police have found out sofar:
Its alleged that on the 23/03/2025 at about 0900hrs a one Nabende Peter a receptionist at GRACE GUEST HOUSE came with a client one Iman who was looking for a room.
He led him to the manager of the Guest house who took him to check rooms & that they started with room 10 and the suspect said ‘it’s good’ ,they took him to room 14 and he claimed it’s small,he was finally taken to room 11 where he accepted and informed the manager that there is someone (girlfriend )now the deceased who was coming.
The manager then sloped downstairs ,at about 1300hrs the receptionist Nabende informed the manager that there was a dead body of a girl in room 11, when he moved he saw a naked body lying on bed ,shortly the same client(suspect)called the manager using 07451900** number of the deceased saying “go to room 11 and check your things”,they then informed the owner of the Guest house who reported the matter to NKOMA POLICE STATION.
Police swang into action and investigations commenced. NKOMA Police informed MND , the Homicide Team and Soco responded and documented the scene with Soco.
Relevant statements recorded from crime scene & the Body of the Deceased conveyed to Mbale City mortuary pending postmortem.
According to sources, The deceased was half naked with a blouse , both hands and neck tied on bed,using veil,skirt,knicker of the deceased and the towel of the guest house.
According to a police statement, it was found out that the Deceased’s phone was taken by the suspect and he is using it to call relatives of the deceased.
Preliminary investigations also reveal that that the deceased has been the girlfriend to the suspect.
Grace Guest House Manager arrested:
Rogers Taitika the Police Spokesman confirms that the Manager Sande Idrine has been arrested and detained and that he will be answerable to while he accepted to rent out a room to a mature man and a minor.

Hotels and Guest Houses have been told to strengthen their security systems by clearly identifying their clients to avoid backfire incase of such circumstances.
Parents have also been cautioned to take proper care of the children and avoid sending them out at late hours of the day.
