7 year old school boy rescued from kidnappers, 12 arrested & 1 hunted

Police in Greater Masaka have made a breakthrough in the kidnapping case of a 7-year-old pupil from Dimo landing site in Masaka District.
Twelve suspects have been arrested in connection with the kidnapping, which occurred on March 21, 2025, at around 7:00 am.
It is alleged the victim was abducted by two men on a red Bajaja Boxer motorcycle while on their way to school.
The kidnappers later contacted the victim’s family, demanding a ransom of UGX 200,000, which was promptly paid. However, there was no further communication from the kidnappers.
A rescue operation was conducted by the Police at 1700hrs on Monday, saving the kidnapped child. The child was dropped off at GAZ petrol station in Kalisizo district by the kidnappers, who were tricked into doing so in exchange for a ransom of 5 million.
The kidnappers had arranged for the child to be taken to the mother in a tax however police managed to apprehend them suspects in the process.

Arrested Suspects include;- Lutaya Nelson a Motorcycle rider, Maria Gorrete Nambajjo (Accomplice) , Namugamba Prossy a sister to the prime suspect, Namukwaya Rosemary a mother to the prime suspect, Serugo Matia who is a Brother to the prime suspect, Kasumba Yuda who happens to be the Father to the prime suspect, Sikyomu Tonny a friend to the prime suspect.
Others include Yawe Robert a Friend to the prime suspect, Kiwendo Paul an Accomplice, Hussein Muhammad an Accomplice as well. Masereka Dennis Taxi driver and Wamala Emma is a Taxi conductor were too arrested.
Police confirm that the prime suspect, Tusibira Pius, remains at large, and that they call upon anyone with information regarding his whereabouts to share it in confidence with police.
