Marachi primary school in Busia registers drop in enrollment

ONC coordinator Busia visited one of the government school called Marachi primary school found on the boarder of Busia Uganda headed by Mr Guloba Bazil.

During our discussion Mr Guloba highlighted that the school enrollment for last year was 1661pupils and this year’s first term enrollment is 1490pupils.

The school had candidates who sat for PLE last year the total number was 86 pupils from which 2 passed in first grade,75 second grade, 4 third grade, 1 forth grade, 1 in U , 3 in X.

The head teacher also said that they have already received the grant which increased from 10,900,000 to 11,120,000 .

On addition to that,the head teacher also pointed out that the school is facing some challenges which I outlined below;

1 , The location of the school needs a lot of sensitization from the area leaders .

2 , They also find a challenge of parents who are not willing to provide food for there who are at school.

3 , understanding

4 , They also lack staff quarters as some teachers come from far.

5 , Some classes need renovation plus latrines

The head master appreciated and thanked the NRM government for paying their salary in time but they also requested for salary increase due to the high cost of living.

They also promised to support NRM government and promote education system in Uganda

After the school, I also monitored the vetting process of Nangwe -dabani PDM sacco .

Nangwe -dabani PDM sacco has so far given out 209million shillings to the PDM beneficiaries in the community.

During the meeting,she adopted Identify some of the beneficiaries of 2023 and 2024 who received the 1 million shillings through the parish acting Chief Mr Egesa James and claimed that they were progressing well among them are the following ;

1 , Mr Ojambo Rashid Ogwanga in Mundaya A village poultry enterprise .

2, Makokha yusufu in mundaya B village poultry enterprise

3, Mr wanyama deziderio in Nandere village in piggery enterprise

4, Babirye Sarah nakauma , mundaya A village poultry enterprise

5, Nafula Rosemary , mundaya A village piggery enterprise.

6, Sifuna Ivan, mundaya B village poultry enterprise.

They all thanked H.E the president of Uganda for bringing such productive initiatives to the local community in Uganda and promised to support NRM government and vote for president yoweri kaguta museveni in 2026
