Civil Servants barred from operating private facilities effective 1st July

The Government of Uganda has barred and completely prohibited Government employees in Education and Health from operating private facilities.
The directive is effective July 1st at the beginning of the 2025-26 financial year.
This directive comes at a time where theirs is declining performance in Both health and education sector with most of the Government employees spending most of the time in Private Facilities than in Government where the earn tax payers money.
Most of them claim to be making ends meet by part timing in Private facilities leaving the service delivery in government facilities in shortage of man power.
With this directive, Government employees will have to make a hard choice between remaining in Government or crossing over to the Private Sector.
Many Ugandans have been impressed with this move from government noting that it will improve on service delivery in the education and health sector.
