A group of four young entrepreneurs has successfully graduated from the Mt. Elgon Self Help Community Program and the Nook Project. The celebrations took place over the weekend at the program’s office in Bubirabi, Bungokho Sub-county, Mbale.
Caleb Wakhungu, the team leader of Mt. Elgon Self Help Community Program, praised the creativity and dedication of the young innovators. He highlighted three standout projects that have emerged from the program: eco-friendly stoves by Sestov, space-saving furniture by A&K, and shoe production and sales by Ronald’s group.
Wakhungu revealed that each group received seed capital of 3.6 million shillings to support business growth and create more employment opportunities for local youth.
Graduates Moshe Serrano and John Wenani expressed their gratitude to the project leaders and committed to using the seed capital to build their businesses and make a positive impact.

Elgon region. He commended the program for prioritizing youth involvement and encouraged young people to embrace skills education as a path to self-reliance and community development.
