Manafwa District NRM leaders Endorse Annet Musibikha as Sole Candidate for Woman MP

In a significant development, Manafwa district NRM strongholds and non-party leaders have unanimously endorsed Hon. Annet Musibikha as their sole candidate for the Woman MP seat come 2026. This endorsement comes after years of poor representation and leadership in the district.
The endorsement ceremony, held at Busumbu Mission Center, was attended by over 500 NRM strong cadres, LC1, LC2, and LC3 leaders from various sub-counties and villages and others.
Ambassador Walibwa Peke, former Mbale district chairman in the 90s, welcomed Hon. Annet Musibikha, pledging full support for her candidacy.
“We can’t continue trusting people with selfish mindsets. Hon. Annet Musibikha has our full support, and we believe she will bring the much-needed change to our district,” Ambassador Walibwa Peke said.
Hon. Annet Musibikha, visibly delighted by the endorsement, expressed her gratitude to the people of Manafwa district. “Our people have suffered greatly due to poor representation and leadership. With my vast national and international connections, I am committed to lobbying for investments in agriculture, health, and other critical sectors that will benefit our people.”
Manafwa district, located in the Eastern Region of Uganda, has a population of approximately over 25000,000 people. The district is known for its fertile soils, making it an ideal location for agricultural investments. However, despite its potential, the district has struggled with poor infrastructure, inadequate healthcare facilities, and limited economic opportunities.
Effective leadership is crucial in addressing these challenges. As Nelson Mandela once said, “Leadership is about empowering others to become leaders.” Hon. Annet Musibikha’s bid for the Manafwa district Woman MP seat offers a glimmer of hope for the district’s development.
