NRM registrar credits Butaleja district for Party’s support

The registrar of the NRM party for Butaleja district, Kuzaima Hasahya, has credited the people of Butaleja district for their cumulative support for the party, gauged by their response to the ongoing nomination exercise.
Addressing the journalists today afternoon, Mr. Hasahya, revealed that a total of 800 natives of Butaleja district, have so far been nominated for the elective positions for LCI, and structural leadership ahead of the May 6 elections.
Hasahya, says that it surprised the district party leadership to register such a reasonable number of NRM leaning candidates, considering the much noise erupting from the National Unity Platform party ahead of the 2026 general elections.
The registrar also disclosed that the 800 candidates emerged from 443 villages. He further said that they expect more candidates since nominations will end on Wednesday, April 30, pending for elections on May 6, for village Party structures, and LCI, by 12:00 PM.
The Party’s registrar, further mentioned that the elections will be held according to the Party’s registers; thus shall strongly prohibit the non registered people to take part in the NRM Primaries.
Kuzaima Hasahya, also reminded the public members that Parish Structural Elections will be held on May 12, sub county elections on May 15, and district structural elections on May 23.
The Party’s icon, said that only LCI candidates, for this case will be charged a fee of 10,000=, to Centenary Bank, whose Branches are in different parts of Butaleja district.
The NRM party, opened her offices for nominations for the LCI, and Party structural elections on April 24 and it will end on April 30.
According to the NRM party’s road map, the candidates will have their open Air campaigns on May 1.
