Celebrated Journalist Joins Race for Namisindwa District LCV Chairperson Slot

Renowned journalist Bwayo Emma, a political talk show host and Head of Marketing and Business Development at Elgon FM radio in Mbale, has officially joined the race for the Namisindwa District LCV Chairperson position.
Bwayo, who also serves as the Male Youth Councilor on the NRM ticket, declared his intention to run, stating that it is time to reshape the image of the district. He emphasized his desire to make a positive contribution to service delivery for the people of Namisindwa.
He pledged to ensure the efficient and effective implementation of government programs and policies, with zero tolerance for corruption and administrative laxity. Bwayo also promised to promote good governance through transparency and accountability in the administration and management of public affairs in the district.
He further committed to promoting a local economic development strategy aimed at attracting investment, increasing household incomes, creating employment opportunities, and improving the livelihoods of Namisindwa residents.
Bwayo plans to enhance the efficiency, effectiveness, and integrity of public servants in fulfilling their mandate of serving the people.
With a passion for public service, Bwayo believes his national and international exposure and experience will be valuable in transforming the district. He has served in various youth leadership structures at local, national, and international levels.
He began his political journey in 2015 at the age of 23 as the Youth Chairperson for Namabya Sub-county, Namisindwa District. In 2021, he was elected as the Male Youth Councilor for the district.
In 2019, Bwayo also served as Youth Minister in charge of Cooperatives and Marketing for the Bamasaaba Cultural Institution. He was later elected Speaker of the Eastern Uganda Youth Parliament and appointed as a board member of the European Union Youth Sounding Board.
In the media, Bwayo began his career in 2013 with Voice of Bugisu as an evening show host. He joined Elgon FM in 2015, where he continues to serve to date.
Bwayo will be contesting against the incumbent Jackson Wakweika and retired medic Situma Mango in what is expected to be a tight three-man race.
