Nandala’s PA to replace him for Budadiri West 2026 general election on FDC ticket as he takes on Museveni for presidency

Reverend Jackson Magombe, personal assistant MP for Budadiri West and Chairperson of the Clergy in North Mbale Diocese, has declared his bid to contest for the Budadiri West parliamentary seat in the 2026 general elections.
Magombe made the announcement on yesterday evening during a closed-door meeting with selected Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) delegates in Mbale, positioning himself as the natural successor to outgoing MP Hon. Nathan Nandala Mafabi.
His declaration comes just days after Hon. Nandala confirmed he would not seek re-election, having served Budadiri West for 25 years.
Instead, Nandala picked nomination forms to contest for the FDC presidential flagbearer ahead of the 2026 general elections and is hopefully to take on Museveni in the 2026 general election.
Rev. Magombe described himself as a loyal servant who has worked side by side with Hon. Nandala and pledged to uphold his mentor’s legacy.
“I am the right candidate to carry forward the legacy of Hon. Nandala Mafabi,” he said. “He has mentored me, and I am prepared to serve the people of Budadiri West with commitment and continuity.”
Nathan Nandala Mafabi the FDC general Sectary also the out going Mp for Budadiri West urged people from Budadiri West to entrust Magombo saying he is the only person who can successed him in the consitituncy.
