Paulo Kimamati, the National Resistance Movement (NRM) district chairperson for Bulambuli, has today Monday been officially nominated to run for a third term in the same position.
According to Denis Namisi, the Bulambuli NRM district registrar, Kimamati has met all the necessary requirements for nomination.
After his nomination, Kimamati expressed his commitment to improving the NRM party’s performance in the district ahead of the 2026 general elections.
He aims to build on the district’s strong track record of supporting the party, with a goal of achieving 99% support for President Museveni.
Samuel Wakoko, an NRM leader from Bukhalu sub-county, has pledged to rally support for Kimamati, citing the party’s strength and performance under his leadership.
However, Kimamati will face competition from Nyasio Mudim, the Elgon County Member of Parliament, who has also been nominated for the district party chairperson seat.
According to the NRM roadmap, district NRM chairperson elections will be held on Friday this week, marking a crucial step in the party’s preparations for the 2026 general elections.
