Doho farmers credit Assistant RDC for recovery of their excurvator

The farmers of Doho rice scheme have expressed happiness for the recovery of their excurvator, said to have been impounded for 3 Months.
The machine, which the farmers have been largely using for rehabilitation of channels in the scheme, and rehabilitation roads in the scheme was restored by Godfrey Nasuga Musulemi, one of the Assistant RDCs for Butaleja district on Tuesday.
Nasuga, who received the excurvator back to the farmers in Doho rice scheme, narrated that it was bought in 2012, off the 28 Billions which President Museveni donated to the rice scheme then, for rehabilitation.
However, recently, the excurvator was hired to Pallisa district for work-without a number plate. This caused the regional Water and Environment officer to confiscate the machine. It since caused much noise moreover politically, which attracted the intervantion of Godfrey Nasuga Musulemi, Assistant RDC.
The confiscation of the excurvator, is also noted, with the cancellation of elections for DIFACOS(Doho Irrigation Farmers’ Cooperative), on Saturday, with accusations that the scheme’s Administrators might have sold off the excurvator selfishly.
In fact, that elections were eventually held on Monday, with assurance from the office of RDC that they could restore the controversial Machine, the following day.
In the DIFACOS (Doho Irrigation Scheme Farmers’ Cooperative) elections, Ayubu Wasige, retained the seat as their chairman, beating his rival: Apollo Kabasa, with a huge margin.
Doho Rice scheme, the biggest rice growing area in Butaleja district, and the neighborhood has a total of 700 farmers.
