District Khadi officially crowned, believers urged to support NRM

BUTALEJA : Butaleja district Muslim supreme council, has today afternoon witnessed the hand over of office from Sheikh Swaib Mukama(outgoing district Khadi) to Sheikh Ramadan Muserengu(new Khadi).
The function was held at Butaleja Muslim headquarters, presided over by Sheikh Imran Abnur Ssali, secretary for Religious Affairs in Uganda Muslim supreme council; representing the Mufti of Uganda.
Ssali, urged Muserengu, to serve with courage, and asked the new Khadi not to be segregative.
Ismail Wadangu, the chairman electoral commission for Uganda Muslim supreme council, asked Muserengu to take advantage of the weaknesses of his predecessor Mukama, for a better performance.
He further praised Mukama for having been a strong mobilizer of NRM, and urged Muserengu to carry on the campaign.
He emphasized that the Muslim supreme council of Old Kampala doesn’t entertain FDC, NUP, DP, and other political parties; then directed the antagonistic group to instead join Kibuli. Wadangu, also challenged Muserengu to organize leaders’ induction for capacity building.
Swaib Mukama, former Khadi, boasted that he’s been an agent of unity and promised to give necessary pieces of advice to his successor.
Ramadan Muserengu, new district Khadi, thanked Allah for the prominence and stressed that he emerged from a humble back ground with readiness to unite the Muslims.
James Potian Nahifuti, uncle to Muserengu, urged the Khadi not to be greedy for the collections in the mosque and urged Muserengu to embrace his predecessors: Swaib Mukama, Yahaya Daka, and Munir Batuka for pieces of advice.
At the function still, Betty Kalembe, the deputy RDC for Butaleja, urged the Khadi to help in health campaigns, development and security maintainance.
Yunus Hamila, the district speaker, called for unity and forgiveness among the Muslims, then asked the supreme council to buy a new car for the new Khadi, leaving the old one with the outgoing Mukama.
But James Waluswaka, former MP for Bunyole West argued that sheikh Mukama was rewarded by the president of Uganda, thus requested the Muslim supreme council to act accordingly.
Meanwhile, Kizza Sauya Saucia, one of the religious in attendance, argued that it’s wrong to sideline some of the Muslim believers along the lines of ideology.
