Kampala (U): Ambassador Walusimbi and Omutaka Lwasi Eria Buzaabo, the newly installed Ndiga clan head (Lwomwa), have agreed to harmonize cultural preservation with national development efforts. The two leaders met at the President’s Office in Kampala to discuss strategies for uniting communities, promoting environmental conservation, and empowering youth through development programs.
During the meeting, Ambassador Walusimbi emphasized the importance of unity and modernization in driving progress. “I’m happy that you have come to visit my office. This is a modern era, so we should desist from things that divide people and focus on those that unite us,” he said.
The discussions centered on rallying young people to actively participate in development initiatives, adopting environmentally friendly practices, conserving nature, and preserving Uganda’s rich cultural heritage.
Ambassador Walusimbi urged Omutaka Lwasi to champion unity and socio-economic transformation within his community. He also stressed the importance of instilling moral values among the populace, noting that this is essential for the nation and its citizens to benefit from the contributions of both cultural and governmental institutions.
The meeting highlighted the critical role cultural leaders play in fostering national harmony and development. Omutaka Lwasi expressed gratitude to Ambassador Walusimbi for his leadership and commitment to unity, describing him as a beacon of hope and progress. He pledged to collaborate closely with the office to preserve and promote the Luganda language, combat harmful cultural practices, and advocate for wealth creation, job opportunities, and socio-economic empowerment.
This partnership marks a significant step toward addressing cultural and socio-economic challenges while ensuring the preservation of Uganda’s cultural heritage. As the collaboration begins, the two leaders are expected to develop strategies that balance cultural preservation with sustainable development, fostering a united and prosperous future for all Ugandans.
