The Assistant RDC for Butaleja district, Godfrey Nasuga Musulemi, has forced the Sacco leaders of Bumwami Ward to refund the money which they had deducted from the Pdm transaction, contrary to the Presidential directive.
Mr. Nasuga, accompanied by Stephen Weere, the Pdm focal person for Butaleja district, stormed the home of Mr. Daniel Manguli, the Sacco leader of Bumwami, after a tip off, and tasked Manghuli and his executive to refund worth 400,000=, to the aggrieved beneficiaries.
According to the RDC, each beneficiary is entitled to bag 1 million shillings because government pays for the charges.
He also said that all the Sacco leaders were facilitated with money for stationary and airtime. However, in Bumwami Ward, most the beneficiaries received cash with a shortfall of between 30,000= and 60,000=, without accountability.
The beneficiaries were thus called by surprise and whoever got less than a Million, was refunded his or her due money immediately. Interestingly, Manghuli, and his executive never sold off any thing to settle the debts, but instead the treasurer ran to her house for the cash in question.
But Manghuli, the Sacco leader, blamed the mess to Abedi Kwiri their Parish chief, who allegedly tasked them to pay him some figure at any cost. Manghuli, also alleged that Kwiri, only appears for duty in Bumwami, Twice in a Month, moreover at a cost of extorting transport refund from the Pdm candidates through the Sacco leaders.
East fm failed to access Kwiri the parish chief of Bumwami Ward for a comment, but the Assistant RDC Godfrey Nasuga Musulemi, vowed to bring Kwiri to order.
Early this year, Mr. Richard Kasozi, former Assistant RDC for Butaleja district, visited Bumwami Ward to sort out the noise by some sacco members, but the leaders softened for a while and they resumed to extort money recently.
Similarly, Godfrey Nasuga, Assistant RDC, also disclosed that he squeezed the Sacco leader of Buwihula, Paul Hitundi, who was famous for charging 20,000=, from each sacco member alleging that it was a facilitation for the Vetinary officer upon surfacing to inspect the built animal shelters.
