BCU to Hold 64th AGM This Month

Bugisu Cooperative Union (BCU) has announced the dates for this year’s Annual General Meeting (AGM), which will be held on March 31, 2025, at the BCU factory.
According to Babra Wasagali, the General Manager of BCU, holding an AGM is a mandatory requirement under the Cooperative Act. She added that the guest of honor will be the State Minister in charge of Trade and Cooperatives, Hon. Ngobi Fredrick Guume.
Wasagali emphasized that only registered member societies with full patronage and shares will be allowed to attend the AGM. She further explained that the AGM is the supreme decision-making body of the union. Key activities on the agenda include passing the budget, reviewing the audited books of accounts, and touring the union premises.
Nandala Mafabi, the Board Chairman of BCU, expressed his appreciation for Bamasaaba, particularly the coffee farmers, for their continued support of the union. He stated that the primary role of the union is to collect coffee from farmers and source it for the market, a task they have performed admirably.
Mafabi also mentioned that the union cleared all farmers for last season and highlighted other achievements, including the sponsorship of over 200 qualifying students in the past year.
