Sironko: Budadiri East parliamentary hopefuls have rallied their supporters to respect one another and observe peaceful campaigns.
These messages were delivered during the burial of Difas Macheri, a paternal uncle of Julius Nakiyi, one of the aspirants for the Budadiri East Parliamentary seat on Tuesday evening in Bumalimba Sub County, Sitonko District.
Sasaga Isiah Wanzila, the incumbent MP, urged his colleagues vying for the same seat to avoid hate politics and blackmail. He emphasized that elections are a short-term process and should not create permanent enemies. He also called on supporters to evaluate their candidates based on their ability to serve, in line with the responsibilities of an MP.
Julius Nakiyi, another aspirant, stressed the need to denounce divisive and abusive hate politics. He encouraged his fellow aspirants to empower their teams with information and urged young people to balance their time between politics and work.
John Kiwungulo, yet another aspirant, advised voters to listen to all candidates and choose the best. He noted that all aspirants are like sons and daughters, emphasizing that politics should never be a reason for division.
The Budadiri East parliamentary seat has attracted about eight aspirants from parties including NRM, FDC, and NUP.
