Bunyole cultural leader mourns ex Police Officer Biiro, urges public to grow Millet

The people of Bunyole, in Butaleja district, were on Thursday, joined by Prof. Elly Kyomi Wesana, at a funeral, for the first time since he was elected by the clan Presidents of Bunyole, 4 years ago.
Kyomi, attended the funeral of Paul Biiro Mayende, former Police Officer and his old school friend in the young ages at Butaleja Primary school, now Butaleja Integrated.
The cultural leader, who according to the constitution isn’t allowed to attend burial, stated that he wouldn’t let his old boy friend go without the jaja’s presence.
He thanked the Banyole for condoling with their friends, neighbors and relatives always.
He also called for unity and restoration of culture. The cultural leader strongly called for the growing of “Millet”, emphasizing that it’s the staple food for the Banyole.
Prof. Chomi, emphasized that millet has irons, carbohydrates, and protein, useful to especially pregnant mothers. He argued that the percentage of people who grow Millet has reduced and called upon the clan Presidents to sensitize the masses about the matter.
At the same Function, Lamecka Weere, a Judicial officer and son-in-law to the fallen Paul Biiro Mayende, called upon the Banyole, to consider building home as a priority. He compared Butaleja district with Kyenjojo, which were granted district stata in the same year, but Kyenjojo is allegedly farther in development.
He condemned the Banyole, who have opted to construct and do businesses in Iganga, Mbale and Soroti towns, to mention.
Caroline Kiwala, the Assistant RDC for Butebo district, also daughter to the deceased Paul Biiro Mayende, asked her brothers to forget about any family differences and return home with construction.
Meanwhile, Logose Sarah Annet, one of the aspirants for Butaleja Woman MP position, argued that under development in Bunyole, is due to disrespect to one another, disunity and lack of forgiveness.
She said that unity is the biggest key to development and asked the natives to forgive one another in case of any wrongs. The iron lady, further gave the example of Tororo district, where new Administrative units were recently created because of unity that their leaders exhibited at last.
