Butaleja NRM Registrar cautions party election officers to stop bias

Butaleja district, on Tuesday, joined the other parts of the country to choose new NRM flag bearers and local party leaders(NRM structures).
Kuzaima Hasahya, the district registrar for NRM, says that they successfully held elections in most parts of Butaleja district, save for 30 villages where hiccups featured.
Mr. Hasahya, in an interview on Wednesday morning, blamed the mess in the 30 villages, on the village party registrars, whom he accused of being partisan politically. The district registrar said that such registrars with bias, inclined to camps, disorganized the elections as they okayed even some children to vote, moreover without following the Party registers.
He thus cautioned them to stop serving the NRM party if with selfish interests because according to Hasahya, it will endanger more elections ahead.
Musa Maseba, the district NRM vice chairman, boasted that the people of Butaleja embraced the NRM party elections wholeheartedly, but also condemned those who elected without following the guidelines in the Yellow register.
Mr. Maseba, said that President Museveni, the NRM party leader, and Dr. Tanga Odoi, the NRM party chairman of electoral commission, are very hard to those who will oversee the elections without following the Yellow register.
In Bugabania cell, Busaba town council, there was serious violence involving the voters, who demanded for the permission for free voting without the yellow register.
Kenneth Mugoya Hadodo, the successful candidate for LCI NRM flag bearer, in Bugabania cell, said that the youths, were forced to fight because his opponents injected much money to fail Hadodo.
In Lwanda village, Busabi sub county, there was violence because the village registrar, Francis Muhono, was allegedly over powered as one Abdallah Kamyufu, the parish supervisor of Buwesa, Busabi sub county, allegedly grabbed the declaration forms for him to over turn the results in favor of Sizzer Mutome, for LCI NRM flag bearer, which forced the angry citizens, led by Elidad Nangulu, to storm to the District NRM office for a solution.
By press time, preparations were underway for Fresh elections in 30 villages where elections failed on Monday. According to the district NRM party registrar, Butaleja district has 443 villages.
