Butaleja, set for Women’s day celebration

The district leaders of Butaleja, have today, broken the news of their readiness for the celebration of the belated International women’s day, on March 28.
Hon. Florence Nebanda, the district woman MP for Butaleja, who is also the champion of the preparations says that they will celebrate Women’s day, under the theme “For all women and girls’ rights, equality and empowerment”; observing the value of the NRM government which empowered the women to the extent that a number of them today, control offices, places of worship, and homes.
Nebanda said that she is into preparations, together with the Butaleja district local government leadership, District NRM female leaders, and the Butaleja District Women’s development(BUDWA), to mention.
The guest of Honor, shall be the state Minister for Local government, Victoria Rusoke, who is expected to address the relevance of government programs to the women across the country, among other issues.
The Woman MP, Florence Nebanda, urged the Women to embrace the belated celebration whole heartedly, regardless of their political affiliation, and also revealed that activities such as Exhibition for for instance in terms rice production, soap making, pottery, and products from horticulture(vegetable growing).
She also said that traditional singing, counselling, and games will occupy the Boma ground Field(venue).
The Parliamentarian, also said that she’s been asked by several women about how to access Parish development model, Grow Funds, then Youth and Women’s Livelihood Funds, meant for empowerment of women in Uganda and Butaleja particularly. She emphasized that such questions will be answered during the celebration on March 28.
Uganda, joined the entire world to celebrate the International wo hemen’s day on March 8. The National celebration was held in Kyankwanzi district.
