Butaleja’s woman MP urges fellows to celebrate for emancipation

Butaleja: The woman MP for Butaleja district, Florence Andiru Nebanda, has urged her fellow women to embrace women’s day celebration, considering the liberty granted to them countrywide.
In an interview with East fm, Home. Nebanda, said that the government of Uganda has a credit for the big positions like: Vice President of the republic of Uganda, Prime minister, Speaker of Parliament, and woman MP positions, to mention.
The Legislator happily said that gone are the days for keeping wives in the kitchen, and condemned violence in homes.
Nebanda, called for observation of mutual understanding in homes, to avoid family conflicts. According to the MP, man is supreme in a home, but they shouldn’t treat their wives with Iron hands. She, however, encouraged her fellow women to endure amidst such challenges.
About livelihood improvement, Nebanda, urged the women to embrace Emyooga, Parish development model, and Grow Fund project which is intended to lift the livelihood of women and their children.
Uganda is today celebrating the International women’s day, under the theme: “Accelerate action for gender”. In Butaleja district, the celebration for belated women’s day will be held on March 28, at Butaleja Booma ground.
