Dr. Patrick Wakida, the change Kibuku badly needs

Having been born in Kibuku by then the traditional Pallisa District, Wakida spent 16 years of his life in Kibuku attaining his Primary education. He later went to the Capital to seek better education services. He has since then acquired 6 degrees including a PhD.
In his political life , Wakida has been on the Opposing side of Government. He spent decades in opposition and he has been a big stumbling block to the NRM in Kibuku and Bukedi Sub Region as well.
However, with the demand of of the masses in Kibuku, Wakida decided to join the Ruling Government and in January, he made a mega procession to mark the end of his marriage with opposition and welcome the NRM in his life.
Tens of hundreds were addressed in Kabweri and he pledged to work together with the local leaders to change the Narrative in Kibuku. He made a famous statement ‘Let’s go to work’ urging his people to embrace work and avoid laziness.
Ever since, Wakida has supported several initiatives in the District. The most recent one is the launch of the Revival of the Education Sector.
Together with the Office of the RDC, the District Chairman Muhammad Nakeba, the Education Department, Teachers and other stakeholders, several strategies were agreed upon to revive the standards of education in the District.
On Friday last Week, Dr. Wakida supported a sports Gala and a debate competition in which pupils were tasked to battle with the motion ‘Ancient Life is Better than Modern Life’.
Mother Care emerged the best with 206 points , Ebenezer Primary School came second with 202 points, while Nampido Primary School came third with 200 points while Tirinyi Primary school and Molokochomo Primary School , Nakodo Primary School came fourth, fifth and six respectively.

The best winner from the Government school and the Best Private School received a cow each plus the overall best school. This was as motivation for their great performances.
Among other gifts received were books and balls to help boost sportsmanship in the schools.
Besides supporting the education sector, Dr. Wakida has supported religious institutions with donations of Upto ten million shillings.
He of recent supported St. Denis Kagumu CoU with 200 pieces of Iron Sheets worthy 2500 USD. Earlier this Month, He donated 10 million shillings to St. Andrea Kagwa Catholic Church among others.
With a wealth of experience in leadership, an academician, a devoted Catholic not forgetting his exposure having traveled and stayed in countries like Russia and the United Kingdom. Wakida stands tall amongst those vying to become the Next Member of Parliament for Kabweri Consistency.
