Gen.Kainerugaba disagrees with Muhoozi over JAT

The Chief of Defense Forces Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba has disagreed with former CDF and now the Minister of State for Internal Affairs David Muhoozi.
Yesterday, Gen. David Muhoozi was responding to the manner at which the JAT dress up with hoods and masks and he termed it unacceptable as UBC reports.
The Minister said that Security officers must be clearly identified while on Duty.
While responding through tweet on X, Muhoozi Kainerugaba the CDF noted that there’s is no requirement for the Joint Anti Terrorism Task Officers ( JAT) to reveal their identity.
“I disagree with General David Muhoozi. There is no requirement for security personnel to be identified! None at all.”.
CDF Kuhoozi Kainerugaba says covering the face is an act done by special forces around the world and the it isn’t exceptional to Uganda.
“Wearing a balaclava is standard procedure amongst all Special Forces in the world. Here is a sample from the British, French and Russian Special Forces. All our Special Forces including JATT will continue wearing balaclavas!”.
The CDF has also recently described the JAT officers as Ugandans Doing a good job.
JAT has been a hot topic especially in the Kawempe North by election, seen manhandling NUP candidate Erias Nalukoola and NUP supporters.
There has been lot’s of criticism from both the public and Members of Parliament on how JAT officers execut their duties with Police and other security agencies distancing themselves form the Security Group.
In an interview with NTV, Gen. Damulira Christopher the Commander Crime Intelligence denied being part of the group and informed that the group is most likely working under CMI since it’s a military group and not under police claiming he left army long ago.
Tomorrow, Thursday Kawempe North shall be holding it’s by election and it remains to be seen how JAT and other security agencies will handle it’s operations in making sure we have a peaceful, free and fair election.
Police Spokesperson Kituuma Rusoke has already assured Ugandans of maximum security during the voting process.
