“If you want prosperity for yourself, you should work for prosperity for others” ;- Museveni

National: President Museveni has called for togetherness and love amongst Ugandans and Africans to Foster Unity.

President Museveni Quoted the famous Jesus talk of love your neighbor as you love yourself from the bible as he addressed dignitaries at The 14th annual Tarehe Sita Thanksgiving service ceremony at the UPDF headquarters in Mbuya.

He also revealed that the UPDF is a success because it fighting for justice and fearing God as well.

“The UPDF succeeded because we were fighting for a just cause (kulwanira amazima). Initially the Army was more secular however we found a linkage between the secular aims of the NRM and the spiritual.” He noted.

He also noted that prosperity for all, African Strategic Security and African brotherhood was top of the agenda in their struggle.

“On the secular, we identified 3 historical missions: prosperity for our people; how do we achieve strategic security for africa; how do we use the brotherhood of the african people. It is because of these that we identified our ideological principles.”

He also quoted the famous saying of Love your neighbor as you love yourself as a common principle that can bring humanity together.

“On the spiritual side, Jesus summarized for all us: love God with all your heart and mind and love your neighbor as you love your self. If you want prosperity for yourself, you should work for prosperity for others. Because remember what Jesus said? How can you say you love God, whom you have never seen, but you hate your neighbor? So Jesus was telling you that if you hate human beings, you hate God.”
