Just In: Besigye Charged with Treason, remanded till 7th March
National: Four time Presidential Candidate Kizza Besigye has been charged with Treason by Nakawa Chief Magistrate’s Court and remanded till 7th March.
The case now taken over by the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP) and the Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID).
Kizza Besigye was brought to court this morning in a wheel chair amidst heavy security deployment at Nakawa Chief Magistrate’s Court.
Among those charged with Dr. Kizza Besigye is Hajji Obeid Lutale Kamulegeya, and Captain Denis Oola with similar charges.This comes bearly 48hrs since president Museveni called for Transfer of Besigye’s Case to Civil Court and he too called for a speedy trial.
