Kawempe North: Balaam and others congratulate Nalukoola upon his victory

Several high profile leaders have come out to congratulate Erias Nalukoola upon his landslide victory against NRM’s Faridah Nambi.
Last night Kampala EC Returning Officer Henry Makabayi declared NUP’s Elias Nalukoola Luyimbazi the winner of the Kawempe North by-election, securing 17,764 votes with His closest competitor Nambi Faridah of NRM garnering 8,593 votes.
Nalukoola in his interview with the press after being declared winner refused to own the victory neither his party but noted that the victory is for the people of Kawempe and Ugandans at large.

Hon. Balaam Barugahara is one of the high profile leaders from Muhoozi’s Patriotic League of Uganda PLU who came out to congratulate Nalukoola upon his victory.
Here is what the PLU vice chairman called for unity in order to reclaim their seat in 2026.
“Congratulations, Hon Luyimbazi Nalukoola, on your win in the Kawempe North Parliamentary by-election. I wish you well, despite concerns about the election’s legitimacy. To all HE mzee Kaguta Museveni ,and Gen Muhoozi kainerugaba’s patriotic youth in Kawempe, let’s unite and work towards reclaiming the seat in 2026. We won’t tolerate chaos in future elections, but for now, I extend congratulations in the spirit of national unity. Our candidate below was cheated.”
The National Unity Platform NUP also came out with Congratulatory message to their flag bearer.
“Congratulations Kawempe. You staged a spirited fight in honor of the legacy of Mr. Update who was a fighter too. The power of the people will always prevaill”.
