Lapaire Opens First Branch in Bugisu Sub-Region

Mbale, Uganda – Lapaire Uganda has officially opened its 18th optical outlet in the country and its first in the Bugisu Sub-Region. The new branch, located along Kumi Road in Mbale City, marks a significant step in expanding access to quality eye care services in Eastern Uganda.
Lapaire, a Pan-African optical retail chain, is committed to providing high-quality eyewear at affordable prices. The Mbale branch becomes the fourth upcountry location after Jinja, Masaka, and Mbarara. As part of their service offering, Lapaire provides free eye tests and professional recommendations.
Steven Masayi Masaba, an Ophthalmic Clinic Officer, noted that many patients only seek professional eye care when their conditions have worsened, often after trying traditional remedies such as urine or salt. He strongly advises the public to obtain spectacles only from certified specialists, rather than street vendors or general shops, to avoid complications.
Hillary Balyejusa, Lapaire’s Communication Officer, emphasized that the company’s mission is to deliver quality optical healthcare to people across Africa, ensuring that even underserved regions have access to professional services.
