Lwengo: Police recover stolen number plates from suspected thug

Preliminary info indicates that On March 1, 2025, Lwengo Central Police Station received intelligence from an informant about suspected stolen motorcycle number plates found in Jumba Rashid’s banana and coffee plantation.
Rashid was already in police custody for a related robbery case involving a motorcycle. Police conducted a search in Lweyebere village, Lwengo rural sub-county, with the help of local community members. They recovered the following motorcycle number plates: UFC 520W, UFH 779X, UFN 559V, and UFH 963F.
The team then proceeded to Mirembe village in Ndagwe Sub- County, where they joined forces with Area local council. A search at the suspect’s house yielded a motorcycle key, three broken motorcycle number plate guards, one side mirror, three spanners, remains of a burnt motorcycle seat cover, and a hidden motorcycle number plate UFC 057C.
Police confirmed that Investigations are currently ongoing.
