Manafwa Residents Lynch 42 Yr Old Man over Matooke Theft

Angry residents of Bumulekwa village, Nalondo Sub County in Manafwa district on Wednesday, 18th December, 2024 lynched a 42 year old man who was found stealing 2 Matooke bunches from one of the area resident’s plantation.
The locals claim the suspect has been a serial thief in the area giving the community sleepless nights.
The deceased has been identified as Moses Musombe, a resident of Bufumbula” B” village, Nalondo Butta Parish, Nalondo Sub county in Manafwa District.
According to Rogers Taitika, the Elgon region police spokesperson, the body of the deceased was found by police at the scene together with two bunches of matooke and a bicycle.
He says that police picked the body and took it to Mbale city mortuary for postmortem.
Taitika cautioned locals against mob justice saying they should report such cases to local leaders or police.
