MAWANDA JOINS RACE FOR NRM CEC WESTERN UGANDA
By; Enock Ariko Michael Mawanda is a Ugandan businessman, economist, and politician. Born in Bushenyi District, he serves as the Member of Parliament for Igara East County .
Mawanda has been involved in politics since 2011 and has held his current parliamentary seat since 2016, initially as a member of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) and later as an independent candidate.
Armed with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Makerere University, Mawanda has held various leadership positions, including Vice Chairperson at Kampala International University. He’s a businessman and economist with vast experience in the energy sector.

Mawanda’s public declaration to express his support for Gen Muhoozi Kaìnerugaba presidential ambitions furthermore added to his popularity in both the western part of the country and also the rest of the country where he was progressively appointed as the Director Mobilization PLU by Gen Muhoozi.
