Mbale City FDC Party Elects New Leadership

The Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party in Mbale City has elected a new executive leadership team as the 2026 general election approaches.
Election follows the departure of three key executive members, including the former chairperson, Haji Masa Musa, who defected to the National Unity Platform (NUP) last month.
Newly elected leaders include Chairperson Godfrey Wasukira, Vice Chairperson Sauda Namutosi Sauda,General Secretary Mary Adikin,Treasurer Aziz Naswagi Aziz, Secretary for Mobilization and Publicity Umaru Mwekolyo Umaru, Secretary for Women Asina Mafuko, Secretary for Youth (Female)Sylvia Namono, Secretary for Youth (Male) James Sosojji Allan,Secretary for Elderly and Veteran Affairs Patrick Wabuje Patrick,Secretary for People with Disabilities Johnson Mutambo, Secretary for Security Sowedi Wanyama
Sezi Mafabi, who had been acting as interim chairperson, stated that the party’s focus is now on winning all elective seats in the city.
The new leadership team will work towards identifying and supporting candidates from LC1 to mayoral levels to compete effectively with other political parties in the 2026 general election.
