Mbale Industrial Park Donates Relief Items to Bulambuli Landslide Victims

Mbale Industrial park has donated non-food items to Bulambuli Land slide victims though Inzu yamasaba.
The items were handed to Stephen Masiga, the communication officer of Inzu yamasaba today Monday, 22nd December, 2024 at Mbale industrial park located at Doho, industrial City division in Mbale city.
The non-food items donated are mattresses, blankets, bedsheets, and mats.
John Zanga one of the executive officers at Mbale industrial park says that they are giving back to the community and to stand with disaster victims.
He says that the donated items are worth over 100 million shillings.
Stephen Masiga while receiving the items, thanked Mbale industrial Park for running to the rescue of the landslide victims.
He urged other business community members and corporate bodies in the Mbale and Bugisu region at large to emulate the Mbale industrial park because people who are affected by land slide are starving.
Masiga says that they are going to make sure that they deliver the items to the rightful people who are living in a difficult situation at the Internally Displaced Camps at Bunambutye resettlement area.
Asumin Nasike, the Mbale resident city commissioner cautioned the Inzu yamasaba officers against diverting any of the items.
Landslides killed over 100 people at Buluganya Sub County in November, 2024. UPDF, Red Cross teams and community members managed to exhume only 36 bodies.
Currently over 1000 families from the every Sub County and neighbouring sub counties have been relocated into temporary tents at Bunambutye by government as it looks for ways of permanently resettling them in the same area.
