Mbale RCC Orders Disbandment of Bulweta PDM SACCO Committee

Mbale Resident City Commissioner, Asumin Nasike, has today Sunday ordered the disbandment of the Bulweta SACCO committee due to allegations of extortion.
The announcement was made today during the launch of the Bukonde PDM Woman SACCO in Northern City Division, Mbale City.
Nasike stated that the leadership of Bulweta SACCO had been demanding bribes ranging from 50,000/= to 500,000/= from beneficiaries before including them in the program.
She says this practice has undermined the government’s initiative to support poor and vulnerable individuals.
Nasike has directed the formation of a new committee comprising members who are not corrupt. She emphasized that the Parish Development Model (PDM) program is intended to support the poor and vulnerable, and extortionary practices have excluded those who need it most.
Assistant RCC Sulaiman Kadimba urged the members of Bukonde Women PDM SACCO to start saving money to grow their SACCO and benefit from the PDM program.
He also encouraged other women in the city to form SACCOs to access government support.
Both Nasike and Kadimba pledged to contribute to the Bukonde Women PDM SACCO as the starting capital.
Members of the SACCO, including Hajala Nagudi and Peace Namutosi, stated that their goal was to attract government attention and support to increase their income.
On the same function group members endorsed Museveni as sole candidate 2026 general election.
