More success stories in Manafwa as ONC advances on PDM Monitoring

Yesterday, ONC Manafwa District Coordinator, Mwolobi Sylvia, continued her PDM assessment tour in Butiru Town Council, Manafwa District, in the Bugisu sub-region. The tour aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of the Parish Development Model (PDM) program in transforming the lives of beneficiaries in the district.
During her visit, Coordinator Mwolobi met with Mr. Wadada Emma, a 30-year-old beneficiary from Manafwa District. Mr. Emma’s story is a testament to the transformative power of the PDM program. In 2023, he received one million shillings through the PDM program, which he invested in piggery, dairy, and poultry rearing.
Through his dedication and hard work, Mr. Emma’s farm has flourished, now boasting a net worth of over ten million shillings. His success demonstrates the potential of the PDM program to lift individuals and communities out of poverty and into prosperity.
Coordinator Mwolobi’s visit to Butiru Town Council is part of her ongoing efforts to assess the impact of the PDM program in Manafwa District. The program, which is part of the government’s broader strategy to reduce poverty and promote economic development, has been instrumental in supporting individuals and communities to improve their livelihoods.
The PDM program is designed to bring decision-making to the parish level, allowing communities to identify their own development priorities and allocate resources accordingly. The program has been rolled out in various districts across the country, including Manafwa District.
As Coordinator Mwolobi continues her assessment tour, she is expected to meet with other beneficiaries of the PDM program, as well as local leaders and stakeholders. Her findings will inform the ongoing implementation of the program and help to identify areas for improvement
