Mulasti SS Clinches Mbale District Football Title, Defeats Nabumali

Mulasti Secondary School has emerged as the champion of the Mbale District Secondary School Sports competition, defeating Nabumali High School 3-1 in the final on Saturday 29 March 2025 and the game was played at Mbale School for the Deaf in Mbale District, with Mulasti scoring three goals in the first half and Nabumali scoring a consolation goal in the second half.
Mulasti SS was awarded the trophy by Mwebaza Naume, the headteacher of Makhai Seed and treasurer of the Association of Secondary School Headteachers in Mbale District (ASSHU). She congratulated both teams on qualifying to represent Mbale District in the Bugisu sub-region games and expressed hope that they would dominate the competition.
According to Mr. Masika Paul Buyera, Mulasti SS and Nabumali High School will represent Mbale District, while Mbale School for the Deaf is also vying for a spot.
The final match for the girls’ category, which was delayed due to a petition filed by Nabumali High against Busiu SS, is scheduled to take place on Monday, March 31, between Busiu SS and Nyondo SS at Mbale School for the Deaf.
Four teams for girls football hope to qualify to Bugisu Zone and dates are yet confirmed by the committee.
