Museveni intervenes in Kiboga land wrangles

President Museveni on Wednesday intervened in several cases of land grabbing in Kiboga District.
Having spent years in bush fighting the past Governments, Kiboga is one of the historical areas where Museveni passed through his struggles.
However the place has been hampered with several land grabbing cases, forceful illegal evictions and crimes such as theft among others.
The media has on several times reported cases while others have gone unattended too. One of the recent broadcasts on news on Ugandans television exposed impunity of some of the actors in Land grabbing in the area which forced the president to convene an emergency meeting that was attended by high profile officers in Politics and Security including army chiefs ,Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) and the Inspector General of Police Abbas Byakagaba.
Museveni admitted that there is serious impunity in the area including double tilting, assault, theft among others.
“After watching a recent land eviction case on TV, I felt compelled to take action on these matters. Serious issues such as assault, theft, and double titling are prevalent, yet any land disputes should be resolved in court rather than through unlawful evictions.”
Kiboga isn’t the only district affected by several areas have cried for the president’s attention especially the local people as the so called big shots take advantage of the less privileged.
