Nalukoola to be sworn in tomorrow at noon

Erias Nalukoola the winner of Kawempe North Bi Election will be sworn in tomorrow the 26th of March 2025.

Nalukoola was declared winner with 17,764 votes with His closest competitor Nambi Faridah of NRM garnering 8,593 votes.

However, his Gazettement too longer than expected raising concerns from the public and fellow MPs questioning the delays.

Speaker of Parliament Anita Among responded to queries MPs led by the Leader of Opposition Joel Ssenyonyi by also calling for the quickness in the process of Gazettement.

However yesterday 24th March, Nalukoola was officially published in the Uganda Gazette and the speaker confirmed that she had received communication from the Electoral Commission of a copy of the Gazette and that Nalukoola would be sworn in tomorrow.

“I have received official communication from the @UgandaEC along with a copy of the gazetted results. I will proceed to swear in the Member of Parliament-elect for Kawempe North in my chambers tomorrow at 12:00 noon. I would like to congratulate Erias Nalukoola Luyimbazi on his victory”.
