Namisindwa District LCV Chairperson Disputes Council Resolution

Namisindwa District LCV Chairperson Disputes Council Resolution
The LCV Chairperson of Namisindwa district, Jackson Wakwaika, has expressed disagreement with the council’s resolution to suspend ongoing job adverts.
The council on Friday last week had passed a resolution to halt the on going running advert to recruitment heads of department due to a lack of transparency.
The district had initially released a recruitment advert on December 16, 2024, and shortlisted candidates were scheduled for interviews on April 7, 2025. However, the interviews were suspended, and a fresh advert for the same positions was published in New Vision news paper, causing confusion.
District Speaker Dorothy Walukawu stated that the council resolved to halt the new advert and seek clearance to proceed with interviews for the already shortlisted candidates. The council also aims to hold individuals accountable for mishandling the process.
While speaking to our reporter today Friday in an exclusive interview, Wakwaika argued that the district service commission is independent, and the council’s interference is illegal and null and void. He cited the Local Government Act in support of his position.
Grace Watuwa, the Namisindwa district service commissioner, when contacted on phone she advised the council to write to the CAO’s office to seek guidance on the ongoing advert. Unless the advert is still running and the commission is continue to receive applications.
