Mbale: Nkoma SS, a Mbale City-based school offering the Universal Secondary Education (USE) program, is celebrating its outstanding performance in the recent Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) exams.
Derrick Dmongs topped the charts with an impressive 18 points in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM), scoring A, A, and C. Musaba Enock followed closely with 17 points in the same PCM combination.
Other notable performers include, Nangalama Charles, who scored 16 points in Biology, Chemistry, and Mathematics (BCM),Mayende Moses, who achieved 16 points in Geography, Entrepreneurship, and Fine Art.
Mr. Wandera Ismael, the ‘A’ level coordinator, expressed mixed feelings about the results. “We expected at least two students to score 20 points, but instead, our top student scored 18 in science. While it’s not our desired outcome, we’re grateful for what God has given us. Notably, we achieved a B grade in Biology for the first time at Nkoma.”
Hajji Kawanguzi Abubakr, the Headteacher of Nkoma SS, thanked the Almighty Allah for the school’s improvement. “We appreciate the efforts of our parents, teachers, and students. As a school, we promise to work on areas where we haven’t performed as expected.”
The school’s performance breakdown is as follows:
Nkoma Main Center:
– Total students: 499
– Principal pass: 78
