Nkoma Ss to host next year’s UMEA Games

Nkoma Secondary School is set to host the next Uganda Muslim Education Association (UMEA) Solidarity Games in Mbale City. The announcement was made by Chairman Hajji Abdul Twahiru Kitezaala during the closing ceremony of the just-concluded games at Namagabi SS in Kayunga District.

The ceremony was graced by Omulangila Kasim Nakibinge Kakungulu, the Patron of UMEA Solidarity Games, who handed over the flag to Nkoma SS Head Teacher, Mr. Kawanguzi Abubakr, symbolizing the passing of hosting duties.
In the recently concluded games, Nkoma SS made a notable impression. Their football girls’ team finished as runners-up, narrowly losing 3-0 to Kawempe Muslim in the final match. Meanwhile, Hamdan Girls’ volleyball team also finished second, losing to Kinawa High.
One of the standout performers was Namuwenge Florence Tondo from Nkoma SS, who won the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award in Table Tennis. The school’s table tennis boys’ team also won bronze medals, finishing third behind Mbogo Mixed and Kibuli SS.
Other winners of the games included Masaka SS, who took home the football boys’ title, while Kawempe Muslim emerged victorious in the girls’ football category. Green Light dominated the netball competition, and Gombe SS was crowned the overall champion, winning four gold medals.
