NUP leader of Mobilization Fred Nyanzi arrested

Kampala: Reports Coming in indicate that the National Unity Platform Head of Mobilization Fred Nyanzi has been arrested by suspected security operatives.

The incident happened today in Kampala as the Party was planning to demonstrate the detention of Former FDC and 4 time Presidential Candidate Kizza Besigye.

One of the people who survived arrested is Waiswa Mufumbira who confirms that he was narrowly arrested together with his counterpart but then he escaped narrowly. ” While in line of duty today, I narrowly escaped abduction but our head of mobilization, Chairman Nyanzi, was taken by armed assailants. I am now safe but the situation remains critical. ” Mufumbira Confirmed oh his X Account.

Our comrade and Head of Mobilisation for @NUP_Ug comrade Nyanzi Fred Ssentamu has been abducted by heavily armed men and taken away in a drone to an unknown destination! He has been abducted on gunpoint from Kubbiri Roundabout.” He posted on X.

By press time, Police hadn’t confirmed the arrest of the two.
