Over 800 VHTs receive food items and maize seeds from Hon. Lydia Wanyoto

Mbale City: Hon. Lydia Wanyoto under her program ‘Food Security at Household’ has today distributed maize flour and maize seeds to over 800 VHTs across the City.

The distribution of the flour is intended to help those especially in the fasting period of ramathan.

The timely distribution of Maize seeds is also intended to help farmers plant food as the rain season has kicked off especially in Elgon Region.

Several VHTs who spoke to Mbale Express TV expressed gratitude towards the kindness of Hon. Wanyoto and they pledged to support her in the coming election as she intensifies her hunt for the Woman Member of Parliament of Mbale City.

This is not the first time she has distributed seeds, she has been running the Food Security at Household program for the last ten years.

Hon. Wanyoto who was represented by her Parsonal Assistant Mr. Siraji Wakaibo assured the people of Mbale that she will continue with this program and that she expects to even make it bigger with time especially with the mandate of the people.

He also reveals that more groups are to benefit from the program in order to empower families and fight hunger amongst the population.

On top of the above items, she supported the VHTs two days training with water worthy 500.000 shillings.
