Pallisa suspected cattle thief lyched by angry residents

A tragic incident occurred on April 23, 2025, in Mulago Village, Agule Town Council, Pallisa District, where a 23-year-old man, James Ochan , was lynched by villagers.
The deceased was a resident of Kaukura Village, Kaukula Sub County in Pallisa district.
According to North the Bukedi North region police spokesperson Wilfred Kyapasa, the sniffer dog and police team had been tracking James Ochan in connection with a case of cattle theft, specifically goats, vide Apopong SD Ref 07/23/04/2025.
Kyapasa says the team tracked the suspect to his house in Kaukula Village, but he was not present at the time. Later, villagers reportedly traced and lynched him.
He adds that police responded promptly, and the crime scene was visited by the OC CID Pallisa District, District SOCO, and a team of police officers.
The scene was documented, photographs were taken, and relevant statements were obtained. Exhibits used in the deceased’s murder were recovered, and the body was conveyed to Pallisa General Hospital Mortuary pending postmortem examination.
No arrests have been made, and inquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
