PDM beneficiaries register success, ask government to increase funding

Bugiri: On a fact finding mission, Hajjati Hadijah Namyalo the ONC Manager instructed all coordinators to engage in PDM Monitoring.
It’s upon this that ONC Coordinator Bugiri Gowa Muhammed visited Basalirwa Jafar A PDM Beneficiary from Matovu B village in Matovu Parish, Nankoma S/C in Bugiri district.
Jafar received one million in Sept. 2023 invested in Brick laying and got 3 million profit which he reinvested in Poultry.
He now owns 300 layers and his life has completely changed.
However he faces challenges of accessing good feeds which he says are very expensive on the market.
Gowa Muhammed the ONC Coordinator Bugiri appealed to the Government to increase Funding of the successful PDM beneficiaries.
Gowa also visited Nabanda Night and Kaziba Dezilanta of Namatanga village Buwunga Subcounty in Bugiri District who got got 1m each and agreed to work together, they used the 2m to buy local chicken, goats and rabbits.
Their project is progressing well and expect to employ some two youths in a few months to come.
Other PDM beneficiaries visited were Talisuna Abdul the Chairperson Naluwerere PDM Sacco Kiinikibi East hot culture.
They received 3m in 2023 September and resolved to plant Sukuma Wiki on 2 acres of land they hired, they sell to Bugiri and Busia markets more so to locals.
They also hire a water pump during sunny seasons like it is now.
They face problems like climate change, insufficient land, limited capital, lack of extension services and lack of market.
Among others visited was Nabanda Night and Kaziba Dezilanta of Namatanga village Buwunga Subcounty in Bugiri District who each got 1m and agreed to work together.
They used the 2m to buy local chicken, goats and rabbits.
Their project is progressing well and expect to employ some two youths in a few months to come.
The above testimonies indicate that the masses are seriously digesting the wealth creation Gospel of President Museveni which aims at getting the 39% into the money economy.
