Police in Namisindwa commence search for 10-Year-Old Boy Who Drowned in River Nambaya

A search operation is currently underway in River Nambaya, Namisindwa district, for the body of a 10-year-old boy who drowned in the waters.
Due to Harvey down pour, on Monday 10 year old boy drown in River Namabya upto now the body has not yet been found.
According to Rogers Taitika the Elgon region police spokesperson, the incident occurred on Monday at around 6:00 pm when the boy, Jeri Soyita , slipped into the river while with friends picking sugarcane.
According to reports, Soyita and his friends were caught in the rain and were passing near River Nambaya when the incident happened. Despite efforts by his friends to pull him out, Soyita was swept away by strong water currents.
Taitika says police, led by the Acting D/CID, AIP Alex Natsuha , D/SOCO, and the Homicide team, are working with residents of Buyaga village to recover Soyita’s body.
He says the search operation is ongoing until they recover the body.
The case has been registered, and investigations are underway. The police are working tirelessly to locate and recover Soyita’s body.
