Police investigate suicide case at Seeta High School Mukono

MUKONO: Police in Mukono is currently investigating a suspected case of suicide by hanging that occurred at Seeta High School, Mukono, on the 21st of February 2025.
According to KMP deputy Police Spokesman Luke owoyesigyire, Preliminary reports indicate that at approximately 3:00 AM, a student, identified as Ssesazi Elishammah, a 16-year-old male student in Senior Three (S.3) at Seeta High School, Mukono Main Campus, was found hanging in the dormitory.
It is alleged that , the deceased had attended evening classes on the previous day until 10:00 PM and later retired to the dormitory along with his classmates. However, at around 3:00 AM, one of his roommates discovered him hanging next to his bed and immediately informed the school administration, which subsequently alerted the police.
The police responded promptly, and the body was removed from the scene and transported to City Mortuary Mulago for a postmortem examination to establish the exact cause of death.
According to owoyesigyire, At this stage, the motive behind the suspected suicide remains unknown, and investigations are ongoing to gather more details surrounding the incident.
He called for calmness as investigations continue. “We urge students, parents, and the public to remain calm as the police conduct thorough investigations into this matter. More details will be communicated as the investigation progresses.”
