Police investigate suspected murder of private security guard in Kaliro

KALIRO: Police in Kaliro are hunting for unknown assailants for allegedly murdering a 23 year old private security guard was allegedly attacked and murdered by unknown assailants.
The deceased has been identified as Musaba David a security guard working with K. Night Security LTD and resident of Industrial Area Kaliro Town Council.
The incident occurred at Industrial area C zone at Stabex Fuel Station.
Preliminary investigations suggest that on the 23 February,2025, Masaba reported on night shift duty at Stabex fuel station with his co-worker Ojara Daniel. The guard was last seen by fellow guard, at around 02:00am, and at around 04:00 am Masaba’s lifeless body was found lying in a pool of blood at the service bay with his rifle on the body.
Upon receiving the information, police officers led by the DPC went to the scene, where the body was found in a pool of blood with a rifle SMG with three rounds of ammunition.
The body of the deceased was taken to Bumanya H C IV mortuary for postmortem.
According to an 18 minute camera camera footage, unidentified assailant wearing a distinctive red cap and armed with a hoe attacked the deceased at 0336am.
The assailant ambushed and hit the deceased on the head three times while he was sleeping in the service Bay , resulting into fatal injuries
The assailant commited the crime without being detected before riding away with a motorcycle reg. No. UGG 805 V BAJAJ Boxer, which he stole from the service Bay.
The fact that the assailant was able to breach the security of the location, where he committed the crime without being detected raises concerns of weak security measures of the place and possible negligence by the second security guard who took long to discover that his collegue had been killed.
ASP Kasadha Micheal the Regional spokesperson Busoga North indicates that Further investigations including the review of the security protocols at the fuel station are ongoing with a view to determine how the assailant was able to breach the security of the premises undetected.
