President Museveni concludes Kigezi PDM Wealth Creation Tour, calls an end to land fragmentation

President Musveni has today ended his 4 day Wealth creation tour in Kigezi Sub Region.

The President Visited several Farmers, Met leaders in the Sub Region, Held A live Media Interaction with Members of the Press and later today addressed a public rally in Rukiga District.

During his address, the President urged masses to embrace the Parish Development Model plus Emyooga and also stop disabling their land through Land Fragmentation.

“I urge families in the Kigezi sub-region to take advantage of the government programs like PDM and Emyooga and stop focusing on non-income generating activities if you want to get out of poverty. ” He noted.

Museveni says land fragmentation disables land which may be used for commercial agriculture. He rather recommended the 4 acre model and share the profits in terms of percentage.

“The people of the region should also keep their land together to ensure prosperity instead of the curse of land fragmentation. I urge you to consider forming family companies to better manage their family wealth and share the proceeds instead of dividing the property itself. ”

He also asked parents to keep their children in school to improve on literacy levels.

“Education is key & every child must be in school for a secure future.”
