Butaleja: Godfrey Nasuga Musulemi, Assistant RDC for Butaleja district, has settled a land dispute in Bingo(Nawanjofu sub county), and urges the public to refrain from solving the matter of disputes out of mob justice.
The land in controversy, is worth 5 acres in Bingo B, involving one Maliseri Soboya Mooso, a business man, and the family of Paul Namakho(R.I.P), championed by one Aida Kadondi, a widow, who denied any transactions for land with Soboya Mooso.
According to Mr. Soboya, he bought the land in 2007, at a cost of 1.4M, paid in Two installments. However, when he brought forth the surveyor to put a land title on his land, Aida Kadondi(widow), caused the confusion in denial of having sold out land to Mooso.
On Thursday, the two conflicting parties appeared in the office of RDC for reconciliation. Alex Nashangwe, one of the sons of Aida Kadondi, confessed that he led his siblings in the sale of the controversial land, with the consent of their mother Aida Kadondi. However, their brother: Ronald Weere, who received the money, ran to unknown destination up to date, prompting some of the family members to reverse their decision.
On Saturday, Godfrey Nasuga Musulemi, the Assistant RDC, caused a meeting on the controversial Land. Over 200 community members attended, led by Deziderio Mooso, their area LC1. They all cleared Maliseri Soboya Mooso as the official owner of the land, as Aida Kadondi left the venue crying.
Godfrey Nasuga Musulemi, Assistant RDC, says that he’s successfully handled 6 land cases across Butaleja district, including that of Bunawale(Budumba sub county), 50 acres. According to Nasuga, some military officers took sides with interests.
