Real Madrid beat Athletico on penalties to set Champions League quarter final clash with Arsenal

European Giants Real Madrid on Wednesday night beat Athletico Madrid 4:2 on penalties to reach the champions League Quarter Final.
Having beaten Athletico 2:1 at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, Real came to Athletico with a slight advantage.
However Conor Gallagher put Athletico in front in the first minute shocking the galacticals and putting the tie level 2:2 on aggregate.
Madrid pushed hard and go a penalty after star man Kylian Mbappe was brought down inside the penalty area but their number seven Vinicius Junior was unable to convert the penalty in the 70th Minute.
Both teams had chances but neither of them put away any until after extra time.
Sorloth and Correa scored for Athletico while Alvarez and Llorente missed. Real Madrid exploited the Chances and converted four out of five penalties with the Likes of Mbappe, Jude Bellingham, Valverde and Rudiger scoring the winning penalty. Lucas Vazquez was the only Real Madrid player to mess a penalty.
Carlo Ancelotti’s men who have won the Champions League title for a record 15 times will face Mikel Arteta’s side which has never won the competition.
Arsenal drew 2:2 with PSV but qualified on aggregate by 9 goals to three. Oleksandr Zinchenko and Declan Rice were the goalscorers.
Barcelona, PSG, Inter Milan, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Aston Villa have also qualified for the quarter finals.
